DCM - Tagged

'Now onto this weeks dare...Everything we buy has packaging, some of it excessive, some of it beautifully designed. Tags, labels, stickers... all sorts of bits and bobs that we can recycle onto cards.I dare you to make a card using a tag, label, sticker or anything else you can find, thats from packaging and would normally end up in the bin. Of course you can ink it, change it, distress it and add anything else you like!If you're feeling brave, I DOUBLE DARE you to make it a card for a man!'

I've got a few of these 'Ollie' designer clothes tags that I kept with the intention of scrapping with them, one day! Plus found some wide brown ribbon from some packaging, not that I can remember what exactly it was from. My eldest son is named Ollie, so made a birthday card for him but may hold onto it for a couple of years as its not really suited to a little boy turning three.

Materials used are Basic Grey Urban Corture PP, Dawn Bibby bookplate, brads and curly clips from stash, printed sentiment plus inked edges of card.

DCM - You're not the (em)boss of me

'Hi there playmates, its Lythan here! Doing these dares is such a joy. We all love seeing what you create so much. The way that you have taken up and run with both the Celestial dare and the Midweek extra this week has just been awesome. As a reward - and as I was so strict last time I set a dare - here is a nice broad theme to get your creative juices flowing. Embossing.Dry embossing with a light box or with a die cutting machine.Using embossing powders or triple embossing.Using pre-embossed papers.Embossing with found items.Just have fun playing!'

Loved this challenge as it gave me a chance to use some of my new Cuttlebug embossing folders. Only problem was I didn't know which ones to use so went with this one in the end.

Materials used are more yummy Crate Paper PP, ribbon from Little Silver Hat, hand stitching and inking to edges.

How did I forget it was Fathers Day this Sunday?? Had to make this card in a hurry last night as my dad was visiting today. Its not too bad, especially as the majority was done with my 3 month old asleep on my lap!

It actually ties in nicely with DCM's Little Extra - Something old, new, borrowed and blue.

Something Old is the brads I've had for over a year
Something New is my patterned Crate Paper
Something Borrowed is ribbon from some packaging of skin care set
Something Blue is the blue cardstock

DCM - Celestial

'Hi it's Keryn here and it's my turn to set the dare this week. This time I asked my family for ideas for this weeks dare and the best amongst a lot of ideas including power tools etc, etc was Lachlan's ideas for Space. It's been his topic at school this term. (Lachlan is seven and in Year 3). To make in a little easier on you all I've called it Celestial to also include horoscopes as well as planets, spaceships, stars, suns etc. How you use these items is up to you.'

Not as adventurous as I wanted to be but I can use this card for my nephews birthday in a couple of weeks.

Materials used are Crate Paper 'Caterpillar', buttons from stash, Heidi Swapp stamp. Just added a little inking to the edges.

DCM - I Can See Clearly Now

'Kel says- Okay, this week I would like you to use some acetate, vellum, plasma or anything else remotely 'see-through' on your card. That's it! '

Materials used are Provocraft Vellum Verse, Basic Grey Blush PP, handcut chipboard heart, buttons from stash, pink raffia ribbon from stash.

I've basically used the card I made for the Little Extra Challenge but cut a few flowers from the same PP and layered on to the card with 3D foam squares.

DCM - A Not So Sticky Challenge

'This week's Little Extra challenge is from an idea of Gillian's - she's always coming up with these fiendish ideas, you know! "how's about a dare where you can't use any adhesives at all...

You have to put them away... No tape, no gluesticks, no Xyron, no modpodge.... and all other sticky things.... the only things you can use are things like staples, stitching, brads, eyelets, pins.... that sort of thing to attach all the bits to your card.'

Materials used are Provocraft Vellum Verse, Basic Grey Blush PP, handcut chipboard heart, buttons from stash, pink raffia ribbon from stash. Everything has been stitched to secure to the card.

DCM - Working 9-5..

'This week it's my turn (Jo) and I'm going to dare you to use bits and bobs from the office for your cards. It's been a while since I had a 'real' job - other than being a Mum and of course playing with bits of paper... Reminiscing... I would like you to make a card using some thing that you would normally find in an office environment. Such as... staples, paperclips, paper fasteners, file folders, library cards, hole punches, lined paper etc you get the drift.'

I'm a little late with this one as I couldn't get on the computer last night and post before the next dare :(

I decided to trim a square card down and turn it into a file folder and cover with DCWV cardstock, lined paper, MM rub ons, 7Gypsies stamp sticker from Scrapbook Supply Outlet store, gorgeous blooms are from Dream Designs, brad and paperclips from stash, address tag from stationers, inked with Vintage Photo.
